Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my insurance rates go up if I file a claim for damage?

Yes and no. Insurance companies have funds in reserve for catastrophic events such as hail and windstorms. A catastrophe may result in higher premiums for everyone throughout an area, regardless of who files a claim. Catastrophic events are classified as "acts of God", not negligence. Since individuals can't control the weather, insurance companies won't just raise rates for an individual because of damage caused by a catastrophic weather event.

Q: I see you have multiple office locations, which should I call?

You can call 1-877-300-HAIL. Our representatives are available every day of the year to help you with any questions you may have about Equity 1 Exteriors, LLC.

Q: My roof is new and my neighbor's roof is old. How do you determine the damage on each?

All hail damage is assessed in the same manner. A thorough inspection is performed on every slope of your roof. If you have indentations, bruises, splits, cracks or holes that can be seen, felt, and attributed to the hail or wind, you have damage.

Q: If your inspection found hail damage (indentations, bruises, splits, cracks or holes that can be seen, felt, and attributed to the hail or wind) what is the next step?

Our in-house adjusters work with your insurance adjusters to be sure that the hail damage is properly determined and corrected.

Q: How much will it cost me to have my repairs completed?

The amount of your deductible will be the only cost to you.

Q: Are you members of any professional organizations?

We are proud members of the CertainTeed Advisory Council. Our business carries full liability insurance and complete coverage for workers' compensation.

Q: Are hail storms worse than tornadoes?

They can be. Hail can damage everything it strikes, whereas a tornado might flatten one dwelling while the house next door doesn't lose a shingle. Hail damage is the number one non-accident cause of damage reported on insurance claims. In the worst storms you may end up with baseball-size hail, causing a several thousand dollars in damage to your vehicle or home.

hail damage

Hail can damage your shingled roof without any visual signs from the ground. Over time, hail indentations develop holes. Even new shingles that barely show indentation can be ruined. These indentations are very easy to miss. Contact us to get your FREE home inspection.
